I worked with Lt. Candie the night before this fatal shooting. Lt. Candie was a man who looked out after his fellow officers and talk with them about anything. He would joke with everyone at work. When it came down to business, he would sit you down to help resolve the issue. He was a great guy to work alongside with. Miss you sir.

Thank you for having the courage to do what I consider to be the hardest and most thankless job in law enforcement. It is not easy to lock yourself in a building with several hundred offenders and do the job right. You did it for over 14 years and I appreciate you. Rest easy my brother, you have not been forgotten

Your heroism and service is honored today, the sixth anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for those that called you beloved for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
