I met and got to know Josh when he came out to support his father, Tim during canine trial events in Region 18. I was a canine officer during the same time as Tim and we worked together at the Hennepin Co. Adult Correction Facility in Plymouth. It was very clear to me that Josh thought the world of his father, as do I. My heart goes out to the Lynaugh family. God Bless!

No words can bring Officer Lynaugh back or heal the broken hearts of 'survivors' left behind. I hope you will find some comfort knowing many are and will continue praying for you. His service and sacrifice made a positive difference in a community, a state, a nation, where too few are brave enough to protect and enforce the freedoms many choose to take for granted. Stand proud knowing he stood apart, choosing to be a positive influence of bravery and valor. May God bless his soul and have mercy on those who mourn.

A POLICEMAN’S PRAYER
Teach me that sixty minutes make an hour, sixteen ounces a pound, and one hundred cents a dollar. Help me so to live that I can lay down at night with a clear conscience, without a gun under my pillow, and unhaunted by the faces of those to whom I have brought pain. Grant that I may earn my meal ticket on the square, and in earning it I may do unto others as I would have others do unto me. Deafen me to the jingle of tainted money and to the rustle of unholy skirts. Blind me to the faults of other fellow, but reveal to me my own. Guide me so that each night when I look across the dinner table at my family, who have been a blessing to me, I shall have nothing to conceal. Keep me young enough to laugh with little children, and sympathetic enough to be considerate of old age. And when comes the day of darkening shades and the smell of flowers, the tread of soft footsteps and the crunching wheels in the yard, make the ceremony short and the epitaph simple – “Here lays a man.” --Unknown

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the St. Paul Police Department. Rest in Peace Brother.

To the immedate family (parents & St. Paul Police Dept), and close friends of Officer Lynaugh; my deepest condolences for the lost of Officer Josh Lynaugh. His untimely and unexpected death is sad news indeed, but he lived the life of a time honored profession, and for that we should reflect with a sence of elation in our own heart for Josh. Let us always remember that Officer Lynaugh died in the Line Of Duty while he was protecting his community from people who preys on law abiding citizens.

RIP Officer Josh Lynaugh.

Please forgive me for adding this side note which is intended for my brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. I recently partaken in a Life Line Screening exam in addition to my yearly physical check-up. This particular exam checks for High Blood Pressure, Premature cardiovacular disease, Diabetes, Cholesterol levels, Chronic Kidney disease, and most of all it checks for plaque in the arteries that can lead to a stroke or heart attack.

Thank you.
