The Sheriffs of Florida and their deputies will never forget the sacrifice you and your family made to uphold our laws and protect society.

Your name has been inscribed on the Florida Sheriffs and the National Law Enforcement Memorial and in our hearts. May you forever rest in peace.

A scripture inscribed on the Florida Sheriffs Law Enforcement Memorial:

"Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called the children
of God." Matthew 5:9

Raiford Royals was my Great Grandfather. One of his daughters , Ruby Helm Royals was my grandmother. When both my brother and myself became police officers, to say that my Grandmother was concerned would be an understatement. We both served for almost 30 years each and are now retired. Our Great Grand father was always and inspiration to us, and our hero. Your memory will always be with us and has been passed on to our children and Grandchildren. Sir, you were, and are a true Hero! May your memory go on forever.

William Raiford Royal was my great-grand father. My grand father was Willie Royal. I did heard a story about what happen but never the whole story, as my grand father Wille died when I was young and my father Charles (C.W.) died at 46. I am so proud of my great grand-father Raiford. He has a great great grandson Billy that has followed in his foot steps. Is in Avation unit with Hernando County

William Raiford Royal was my great-grand father. My grandmother shared many stories about her father and how tough life was after Raiford died. My grandmother remembered the day men came to the Hamilton
County jail( The Royal family lived on the second floor of the jail) and told them the ghastly news.
May you rest in G grandfather Raiford.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 97th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
