RIP Sir, Thank you for your service. I penned this poem in honor of two fallen brothers from my own Department. I am posting it here again. God Bless you and your family Detective MacKay.

ANGELS CLOAKED IN GREEN

Every once in a while
A Guardian Angel is sent down to Earth
To watch over us and go the extra mile
Even though we may have not proven our worth.

An earthbound Angel to protect us from the evil things men do
Watching out for me and you
Bearing our pain and suffering too
Oh how we hope our deep appreciation they knew!

They walk among us each and every day
Spreading the light
And keeping the darkness away
Their suit of armor cloaked in green, or what a powerful sight!

God may not tell them how long they will be here
Thus the reason why they hold each precious moment so dear
Their time in question but their mission is ever so clear
Restore peace and order and stop the innocent’s fear.

While on this Earth they work tirelessly
Day after day
Protecting the land of the free
Standing tall, and lighting our way.

Then the day will come when their mission is complete
God recalls them home to Heaven high up Above
Leaving us to question why? Whilst we quietly weep
They fulfilled their mission to spread His Undying Love.

Now we must carrying on
Our Angels would definitely say
Spread the Love we brought to you
Each and every day
Hold your heads up high, walk proudly and stand tall
We are right beside you, still lighting your way!
