In Memory Of Billy Ray Grimsley

Because the greatest force on earth is not the compulsion of law, but the passion of Love, and true compassion puts love into action.

Love is more than a feeling, it is a commitment and God’s love is unconditional and has been committed to us all.

Our love with God is a journey with a beginning but has no end, because we can walk with him forever.

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

No one is more secure than one who is in God’s hands. For to be absent from the body, is to be with the Lord (Colossians 2:5) and Billy is in God’s hands.

Always in all ways God’s hands are guiding and leading; and He alone knows the things that we’re most needing.

And when he sends sorrow or some dreaded affliction, be assured that it comes with God’s kind benediction.

And if we accept it as gift of his love, we’ll be showered with blessings from our Father above.

For Billy’s Family;

Allow God to be with you every day. Because life is short; forgive quickly, believe slowly, love truly and laugh uncontrollably.

No matter what life may bring your way, each hour of every day remember: Throughout the months and long years too, Our Lord in Heaven will “Take Care of You.”

I will always remember him as Big Bill. He was my dive instructor and friend. Very gifted and always full of joy and laughter. Best memories with him were the trips we took to the Florida caverns. He nick named me "cookie jar". I will miss him. God bless Big Bill. Will see you again in Heaven.

Yesterday I went to the wall...I saw your name and picture and I still can't believe I will not see your smiling face in the courtroom any longer. I helped Gary take an etching of your name and tried three times just to get it right! We miss you so much in P-Town and it just isn't the same without you! Rest on Peace Deputy Grimsley...your memory will continue to live on in the hearts of your loved ones to include your brothers and sisters in blue and brown!

My deepest condolences to the family, members of the department, and those served, at the loss of this officer. May faith, family, friends and time join together to ease everyone’s pain at this time of loss.

While many other career choices were certainly available, this officer chose to protect his fellow man, and for this we give everlasting thanks. As the Good Lord hath said, “Blessed are the Peacemakers.”

Thank you for your service, your convictions and moral character, as well as your devotion to duty. May you now rest in peace, knowing your fellow brothers and sisters will watch over your family and continue the Watch!

I was so shocked to see this posting on here, I had to call my Dad right away. I remember seeing you up on stage with "The Searchers" many times and so many other times around town. You were always so happy and full of life. Thank you for your service, we will carry the torch for justice from here. To Ms. Robin and family, Mr. Bill will not be forgotten.

Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such times. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.
