Reflections for Sergeant Frederick Albert Riggenbach

Today I attended the memorial services for a fallen, fellow law enforcement officer, Sgt. Rick Riggenbach. With a heavy heart I was able to personally extend deepest condolanes to Sgt. Riggenbach's family and the Chitamacha Tribal Police Department on behalf of my family, my Sheriff, and my Department. I also had the good fortune of speaking to, and wishing the best and most speedy recovery to both St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Deputies who were injured in this horrible tradegy.

Sgt. Riggenbach was truly a very loved and respected officer by many and will be missed forever. Thank you Sgt, Riggenbach for what you did, for it made everyone around you able to enjoy their lives more. Rest In Peace, we will take the watch from here.

For Sergeant Rick Riggenbach:

The response to calls reporting persons with guns and who are mentally disturbed probably is among the most dangerous situations one can be called to investigate. We regret that Rick would be the next law-officer to die at the hands of one in such condition. Our only alternative is to be prepared, more than ever, to survive such calls at whatever the cost might be involving one with the absence of reason.
We pray for Rick's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him.
May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Sgt. Rick Riggenbach, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Sergeant Riggenbach,

Thank you for your service. Rest well in the arms of the Lord.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 23 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.
