9 years, 9 long years...this year might be the toughest knowing he's in a transition home instead of locked up.

We miss you dearly and your sacrifice will never be forgotten! Got a new unit this past year and in your honor I call him Scooter. You'd love these Tahoes, they have so much room but I know you'd jam it full of guns and flashlights haha

This does not get any easier. Police Week is upon again, we just made 8 years and some days it seems like ages but others it feels like yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. That not guilty by reason of insanity just does not provide justice for the day that changes us all. You are missed by many.

Many years later and many memories ago, I worked with Rick in the oilfields near Morgan City. Oilfield Testers and Equipment was the company name. Rick was a hard working loyal friend. We lost touch with each other over the years. But I always remembered his smile and ever positive outlook. Finding out that he was killed is a blow to the heart. Rick my brother RIP and I'll see you again my brother!

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Rick had been my father figure since I was 6 years old. He treated me just like Will. January 26 2013 I graduated from military school. He wasn't at my graduation. Driving home that afternoon I got the phone call that he had been shot. Rick was the last person I thought that could happen to, I thought of him in the highest. Now I'm a PFC in the United States Army stationed in Germany. I'm writing this today because it still hurts to know he's not here anymore. Hope the range is nice where your at brother.

I did not know Sgt. Riggenbach but with that last name I feel we were probably related. Unlike the Sergeant I was able to reach the brass ring and retire, I will think of Sgt. Riggenbach and pray for his family. God Bless
