Reflections for Trooper Michael Wayne Slagle

Michael, its so difficult to not hurt when you hear the news of not just one of your own Troopers, but of one of your academy classmate's life ending in such a tragic way. We knew that there would be tough days ahead but we tried not to think of days like this. May almighty God now provide you a mansion in a place of nothing but peace and happiness. I will pray for your wife and daughter as they endure this and I know our Lord will be with them to help them find comfort in the days ahead and I will rejoice in the fact that someday they will acompany you again. Rest in peace my brother.

Tennessee Highway Patrol / classmate

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

You have served your partner well my friend. Your loyalty and bravery has been unmatched. Now go and run the green fields of heaven. You have earned the rest. You will not be forgotten. Instead, you will now find your place in the rich history of United States law enforcement. Thank you for your service.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you in the time of your tragic loss.

Almight and most merciful Father, we commend to your gracious care and protection all men and women in law enforcement.
Protect them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which they encounter, wisdom in decisions which they must make, and patience to suffer the wrongs and abuses which others insensitively direct at them.
Grant that, knowing the dangers which beset them, they may ever take thought for the safety of each other.
We make this prayer to you Father, for all Law Enforcement Officers-especially for those who are close to us, for you live and reign forever and ever.
Amen
