To the family of Officer Jeff Atherly:

I heard about this horrible tradgedy today at work. I had to stop what I was doing, I thought about it, and teared up for a minute, then set down and said a prayer for all of you. I know how you feel. My son was ambushed and killed 3 yrs ago while serving Sedgwick Co. KS Sheriffs dept. Be assured that the law enforcement community is among the strongest support you could ever have. I know the pain cannot be stopped but they will help you thru it. Try to find some comfort in knowing that Jeff died a hero and that God has a special reward for his sacrifice. Remember too that Gods own son was murdered and because of His sacrifice you can be together again someday. My heart goes out to you and my prayers will go up for you.
