John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

David , I'll always remember our times working in the Gang task force and our long drive to Training in Oklahoma City. You really opened up to me about your family and your upbringing and we really need a connection. I always got a kick out of the fact you called me the "brown Yoda"! You had a great Sense of humor ?you are missed brother. RIP

David, Our school days have never left my memories, when I learned of your sacrifice, I stopped and returned to those days at Eldorado High School, Del H Robison middle school to a scrawny little guy that was funny and giving of his humor. Then we graduated, we scattered like the leaves in the fall. You went into the service, while I became a wife and mother, you became what you dreamed of the most when we were kids, a Police Officer. I will always think of you, I will always wish for one more day with you. I will always remember that you are my greatest ambition to remember the echos of so long ago.
Rest easily,
God Speed

I thought yesterday would be hard, but for some reason, today was worse. Dec 16 2012 was without a doubt the most difficult shift I have ever worked. The week following was the longest, and hardest week of my life. I miss you and Jeff every day and we are all rallying to help your families cope. R.I.P and thanks for being our guardian angels.

I didn't know either of you but I do serve in the county jail and will be in the Topeka Police Academy starting July 8th. I was working at jail the night of your sacrifice and remember hearing of the tragedy and praying for you guys and wishing I was out there to find the evil doer. I look forward to taking over where you two left off supressing evil, serving and protecting the citizens of the City of Topeka.

I didn't get the chance to get to know you, but I've only heard the most wonderful things about you from everyone who knew you... Everyday I get up and put my uniform on and go to work, I think of both you and Jeff. I still wear your memorial band with pride. Topeka lost not just two of it's finest officers ever with you guys, but also two wonderful human beings, and friends. R.I.P. sir :(

I miss you every second Davey. My heart is broken and I feel like a part of me died. You were the best brother a sister could ever have. I would of never of been a officer if it wasn't for you. You always were and still are my hero. I'm blessed that we got to talk 27 minutes before the incident occured. We were able to tell each other that we loved the other. I promise to take care of mom, dad and Mona for you. I love you big brother. Rest in peace...your watch is over down here but I know your with us in spirit and watching over your Topeka brothers ans sisters.

Dave, you had such a sunny disposition. I didn't work many calls with you, but I remember how your face lit up with a smile when you spoke about your family. I am so sorry this befell you, but I believe that- given the choice- you would not have allowed anyone else to take you place. You are missed by people who never even met you. I look forward to one day shaking your hand again.

Corporal Gogian, You are now in the presence of God. You are surrounded by all those who have gone before. Rest well.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 22 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

For Corporal David Gogian and Officer Jeff Atherly:

The law-officer on patrol is always at risk of encountering those who will strike out in a sudden and deadly manner, with little regard for the consequences. We regret that Jeff and Dave would be the next law-officers to be slain by the standard coward who usually murders others and then chooses death rather than facing justice as prescribed by our laws.
We are grateful to those law-officers who responded and pursued Dave's and Jeff's killer to the end - we always will. Forever.
We pray for Dave's and Jeff's families, friends, co-workers and all who care about them. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Corporal David Gogian and Officer Jeff Atherly, soldiers-of-the-law, a final salute.

Other than the immediate family (and I'm only guessing there), no one will nor should mourn the animal who killed you. YOU however are mourned by many, many who didn't even know you. Thank you for your service, you are a hero.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
