Angel, we honor your service to your community as a law enforcement officer and you will always be remembered and revered. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Angel was killed in the line of duty. May his loved ones continue to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you. To his family, you are in my heart's embrace today. I pray for the emotional healing for all who called Angel beloved.

I was so saddened to learn of the loss of this young officer just starting his law enforcement career and know what a devastating blow his loss is to his family and his agency. My son was also his brother in green so I thank him for his service in the Corps and bid him semper fi.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Patrolman Garcia gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on December 16, 2012.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Angel you were a good friend to my daughter, always helping her with her car in your father's car shop and always giving her things. You were a great friend and always smiling everytime you came to our home. I remember when you bought me a pineapple cutter and gave me a pineapple also. I guess Clarissa must of told you that I wanted one. You were always so kind and in good spirits. Clarissa is devasted by your loss and drove home from Arlington last night to attend your funeral. She is broken hearted and misses her friend. I am glad she spoke to you on Thursday before your passing at least she has that to remember you by. You always wanted to be a Marine and a Police Officer and you achieved both. You did it! May Gob Bless your family and give them comfort during this difficult time.

Angel, my big brother. Watch over us. Give me the strength. Remember when we went for one of our evening jogs? Well you knew i hated running! So you ran behind me so that every time i stopped you'd push me! I need you to do that now. I need you to give our parents, our little brother and I the strength you had inside of you. You were ALWAYS so motivated that it always motivated me. Motivate us today, tomorrow, next week, next year until we meet you in heaven. We love and miss you terribly. See you in heaven, you devil dog! You're in all of our hearts now. I love you. Like you always said, "Pain is weakness leaving the body." I'm so proud to call you my brother.

P.S. we appreciate the many condolences.
