John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Your service above and beyond in responding to assist on a call for service is not forgotten. Today as your brothers and sisters in this county prepare for the holidays and their own tours of duty each day, we honor you and the loss to your family and so many others.

My Faithful Servant

My faithful servant.
You were called upon to serve others.
You were asked to see, what no man should ever have to see.
To go through, what no man should ever have to go through.
But you did so with pride, honor, and integrity.

My faithful servant.
You were called upon to defend those, who could not defend themselves.
To provide justice to those, who did not respect it.
To lay down your life, if the time called for it.
Again, you did not question what was asked of you.
You did it with love, compassion, and loyalty.

My faithful servant.
In times of adversity, you prayed for strength.
In times of triumph, you praised your Lord.
You served your Country, State, and city proud.
Your service will forever be remembered by the many lives you’ve touched.

My faithful servant.
When your service on this earth is finally complete.
I will welcome you home with open arms.
I will embrace you and proclaim,
“Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

RIP my brother, the Lord has taken you home.

I still remember just over a year ago that horrible page we all received. It's incredible how quickly something like this happens. I am forever grateful for your sacrifice and I will never forget your actions on that fateful day. If I can be half the man you were I will consider myself blessed and grateful. Continue watching down on all of us brother.

To Scott's wife and family:
I saw the photograph of the Candle Light Vigil in Washington last week and Scott's name, etc. I made a comment about our son who was lost his life in the line of duty on June 22, 2003 on The Tombigbee River. I want you to know that I was I was in no way taking away from your dear Scott. We went to Washington in May of 2004 (one year after Lance's accident) and it was an awesome trip. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers! May God continue to strengthen you!!!

Scott, we honor your service to your community as a law enforcement officer and you will always be remembered and revered. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Scott was killed in the line of duty. May his loved ones continue to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you. To his family, you are in my heart's embrace today. I pray for the emotional healing for all who called Scott beloved.

I was so saddened to learn of the loss of this officer and know what a devastating blow his loss is to his family and his agency. There are not sufficient words to convey the heartbreak I feel for his family.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Deputy Ward gave to his community and the citizens of Alabama, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 23, 2012.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE. REST IN PEACE.

POLICE OFFICER
NAPERVILLE IL POLICE DEPARTMENT

December 18, 2012

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"
