Agent Delaney,
On today, the 10th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just as a Border Patrol Agent but also when you served with the U.S. Armed Forces-especially during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I remember a lot of our conversations when we were in Charleston. You were a great help to me as I taught my first session at the Academy, you were a great Section Leader and your contributions were invaluable. I remember you as a friend when we were in Casa Grande and I was saddened by your early departure but gladdened to see you return to the Service later on.

Words fail me beyond that, I cannot yet fathom the reasons for your having been taken from your family and friends. But I will always have the deepest and most profound respect for all that you accomplished during your brief time with us. God bless you and keep you my good friend.

I cried as I rocked my children to sleep last night. I couldn't help but think of you. I'm sad it took me so long to find out about your passing. I asked about you many times as I failed to find you on facebook. I was told it was likely due to your job, but I was happy to hear you reached your goal. I can still remember our first conversation, and our last. I will never forget you and all the good times we shared together. I know it's late, but congratulations on your wedding and your three children. Your wife and children are in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to seeing you again in the next life. Until then, you will be missed.

Dave was a dependable friend. I liked the way you always knew where you stood with him. I admired his ability to take a strong committed position on most anything and stick with it. He was not a fence sitter. I knew of his desire to be a border patrol agent and remember hearing he made that goal. Not surprising. I did not know about the wife and family as I lost touch with him but my prayers and condolences to them. I know his abilities will not be wasted on the other side.

I lost contact with David, my old roommate, but he'll be missed. What a great guy. We had some fun times in Florida, great conversations, lots of laughter, talks about life and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a "thinker" and always working to overcome his short comings and to become a stronger, smarter, more dedicated follower of God. I'm happy to see he ended up doing what he desired, we talked much about his drive to be serving as a boarder patrol, after his military service in the Army, and Marine Corps. May your family and children be blessed and always know and feel your love for them. I hope they will always know what a cool guy you were buddy. Love you Dave, When my time comes, when I get there, I'll see you on the other side my friend.

Dave was always a kind man. He was a good friend. We have a lot of memories from our church group, the singles ward. He was always helpful and hard-working. I am grateful for his friendship and wish his wife and children peace at this time.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Agent Delaney,

You have entered into the presence of the Lord. Rest your soul.

To Your Family:

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 20 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.
