Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Correctional Officer Larry L. Stell

To a fallen soldier. May you rest in peace Officer Stell. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Stell family. We put our lives in danger every time we began our tour of duty. No one knows the blood, sweat and tears we give to do this job. We do it to serve the public and alot of time the public don't respect the job we do. So i say to you Officer Stell.....Job Well Done Sir! May you rest in grace of our good Lord and receive the love and praise you deserve.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Sir, Find your rest in the presence of God.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 20 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

Larry, I am so grateful to have met you. I was in a horrible accident last August & was life flighted to Savannah, was in a coma for 3 mts. & then after all my operations to fix my broken bones, they sent me to Mcrae Manor to live for physical Therapy & nursing care. You came to visit me all the time & it really brightened my day. I had spoke to him on the phne a week before he was killed and really missed him. He was a great man & has a great wife! I miss you Larry. It hasnt been the same since I was discharged from the nursing home 3 mts ago, and not being able to see or talk to you. I miss you so much!
