On a recent visit to the US I was deeply moved and impressed by the respect and dignity afforded military and Law enforcement personnel, and the warmth of the welcome afforded to me as a former soldier and serving Police Officer.

Please be assured that your colleagues in Europe hols our brothers and sisters in the U.S. in the highest regard and my thoughts and prayers are with Officer O'Rourke's family and colleagues .

My heart breaks for the family and friends of Officer O'Rourke. My brother has been a Michigan State Police officer for over twenty years and I can't wait until he can retire. Our world has become an increasingly crazy place and our men and women in uniform risk their lives each moment they are on duty. God bless the family he leaves behind.

Too many law enforcement people are being killed lately. What ever happened to the respect for peace officers that used to prevail? I have been in retirement for 12 years and have observed this change. My heart breaks every time I hear of another officer killed doing their job.
