Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Bobby Gene Demuth, Jr.

"For those who pledge to uphold it, Freedom requires a sacrifice the protected will never know."

To all the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Demuth, may you know that there are many in the community that grieve with you and are praying for your comfort and strength during this time of great sadness. It is tragic that our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Just as you were always with him when he patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. He will always be admired and remembered for his courage and bravery.

Thank you Sir for your service! Your dedication and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten!

To those who continue to carry on to protect and serve, be safe and know that prayers go up daily for your protection. God be with you today and always!

I am sending prayers to the family, friends and community of Gene. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is heavy and I grieve along with you. Gene was one of my high school classmates, Tarboro High School 1988. Gene always had this infectious smile and always had a good heart. I even had a chance to work with him some when I was a deputy clerk for Edgecombe County and he was with the Sheriff's Dept. He was still the same from high school. R.I.P. my fellow classmate!

It is such a sad, sad time in the law enforcement community to lose such a young, vibrant, dedicated officer, father, husband, son, and friend in a senseless act such as this. Gene is with his Lord now and our world is a better place for having had him in it. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Demuth family, NCSHP family & all of Gene's many friends.

Rest In Peace Brother, you will never be forgotten!

My heart is heavy with grief. The morning's news was not pleasant to receive and definitely not the wake up call I wanted. I supervised Bobby Gene for a number of years. Bobby Gene always was willing to go the extra mile and do the job right. It was my Privilige to work with you and my Honor to call you my friend, my Brother.
To the Demuth family, know that you are in my prayer's as well as those of the entire brotherhood of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. God's comfort to you and all my fellow Troopers in Nash County for the loss of our brother.
Blessed are the peacekeepers for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5.9

You were a great friend and motivater through our cadet school. We had some hard times and fun times. You had a great sense of humor , funny and aways smiling and joking around, but was also totaly deticated and serious about your career. It was a great great hornor to have known and served with you. I know you were doing what you loved. You will never be forgotten. Drive on my brother
