As a retired Pa. State Trooper I always say my morning prayers which includes for the protection, welfare and Blessings of all our Police Officers. However,my prayers always include that if a Police Officer is killed in the line of duty that the Good Lord, in His infinite wisdom and love, will take the Police Officer into His Holy Contentment. Asking God to reward the Police Officer for his service of duty to his fellow man and his courage to stand up to the dangers of his Profession. May their family, friends and fellow Officers know that God will reward them for their love of God and sacrifice.

Sergeant John J. Hartman, retired
Pennsylvania State Police

Your body may sleep, but your mind is never resting. In your dreams you try to turn back (even slow down) time to place yourself there in hopes things would turn out differently; only to awaken to the same outcome. Your mind never rests. Your heart breaks and hardens a little more. Your perception of the general public grows a little more dim. You trust a little less. You push away the ones who love you a little more, yet you attempt not to show what's truly on your mind. Your mind never rests. You hold in your emotions because you're suppose to be the tough one. You pray a little harder. You try to remember your last conversation, but you never completely remember every detail, even though you want to so badly. Again, your mind never rests. You fight back the tears, the anger, the frustration so no one will know how you're feeling. It gets a little more bearable, but it never ends.
RIP Trooper Bailey, know that you're NEVER FORGOTTEN.

Lt. W. Spinks
FBOP/Former Nicholas Co. (WV) Deputy Sheriff

I knew Corporal Marshall Bailey for most of my life. I am now a Deputy Sheriff in Fayette County which borders Clay Co. WV. Growing up I seen that Corporal Bailey was a policeman that everyone in the community knew and respected. He was firm, fair and consistent, and would do anything in his power to help another person. He will be greatly missed. The state of WV lost one of their finest

I want to pass on my sorrow for the loss of Trooper Bailey both to his community, family and his agency. I know how much it hurts and how upsetting it is when a Trooper is killed in the line of duty. It is an un-needed loss. We will carry on and continue to do what needs to be done no matter what. RIP.
