Sir, you will never be forgotten.

To your family,

Feel the prayers.

I fall to my knees every morning since my son was taken by a shotgun blast during an arrest. I pray for every law enforcement officer. I pray that when another falls, that their family be wrapped in God's arms.

Feel His comfort. He gave His son. He knows your pain.

I am so very, very saddened to hear of the death of Officer Morris and my heart aches for his family, friends, and community. I am praying that the lives he touched are comforted by knowing that he was a true hero, doing the things others are afraid to do, not because he was the most brave, but because it was the right thing to do. RIP, Officer Morris, your watch is over.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY POLICE OFFICER ADRIAN MORRIS.

My heart is filled with great sadness at the lost of your loved one and fellow Officer.
We in the law enforcement community are a family.
Whether you pin a Badge, or Shield or Star upon your chest.
Whether you work in a small town or large city.
Whether you work in Detention Facilities or out on Patrol.
Whether active duty or retired, we are family, a law enforcement family, a brotherhood, a band of brothers having walked the line of good over evil knowing that at any moment in the course of performing our duties the ultimate sacrifice might be required of us in the service to our community.
For Law Enforcement is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling to serve for some will give all that they have.

I commend you my fallen brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
For you left us doing what you chose to do.
Performing a job you were trained to do.
Upholding the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do........serving your community making a better and safer place for us all.

FINAL CALL
OFFICER MORRIS STATUS..........OFFICER MORRIS STATUS..........OFFICER MORRIS STATUS..........
