Brandon, do you remember when you were a brand new deputy at St. Charles Sheriff's Office and volunteered to take my nephew to visit his father in one of the worst neighborhoods in Baton Rouge because I couldn't afford to make the trip? I do. Do you remember those days when you worked for the Levee Police and kept showing up on my calls because you were listening to my radio traffic and knew that I didn't have back-up available? I do. Then, after you changed agencies, we would pass each other and wave as we hurried off on our separate ways, and I would always promise myself that I would catch up with you next time I saw you. For that I apologize. I Never thought that the last time I saw you would be the last time that I would see you. I miss you my friend. Rest in peace.

The so called "Sovereign Citizens" are some of the lowest of the low and have little worth as human beings in my humble opinion. Deputy Nielsen, you did not deserve this nor did Deputy Triche. I'm very grateful that the other members of your department involved in this incident have survived.

For all your service to the State of Louisiana and St. John the Baptist Parish, and the United States as a whole, I thank you.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

Dear God, where do we get such men? What loving God has provided, that each generation, afresh, there should arise new giants in the land. Were we to go but a single generation without such men, we should surely be both doomed and damned."

Rest in peace brother, you have served well. Yep, someone killed a policeman today, and a part of America died. God bless the family, friends, and co-workers of Deputy Nielsen in this time of tragic loss. Folks, this is only going to get worse with these types of lunatics as the moral decay of America increases. We have to watch out for each other because sadly, the citizenry is doing so less and less. Please, be safe out there. Prayers for the full recovery of the other deputy who was injured.
