Reflections for Police Officer Joshua Stanley Williams

"For we in this world today-shall be remembered,
We few...We happy few...We Band of Brothers.....
For he whom sheds his blood with me on this day-
Shall be, My Brother.
Lest ye say it proudly,
We are but warriors for the working day." Shakespear

GO walk the streets of gold Brother Williams...we'll take the watch from here....until we meet on heavens golden shores. God Bless you and the Williams family.

While having coffee and donuts before church on 7-29-12 with friends in Florence, Oregon one of the women asked me to pray for a relative named Cody in Texas. Cody grew up with a friend named Dylan. Dylan is a drunk and Cody has warned him many times that if he does not change his ways he will kill someone. Well Dylan was the driver who killed Josh Williams. Now Cody needs our prayers because he is also a victim of Dylan's lifestyle. Cody tried and tried to change Dylan before a tragedy like this occurred and now he is in agony over the consequences of Dylan's actions. Pray for those who are victims of collateral damage.

When I come here it brings sadness to my heart. For I know another Officer who chose to “Protect and Serve” has been taken from his or her family. May God place his hand on each family member’s shoulder and give firm guidance and soft memories of all the good times spent with Josh. Rest in Peace Josh, for another Officer has stepped up to meet the call to “Protect and Serve”. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

Josh,

Where do I start? Its been almost two weeks ago that you slipped away from us. I want you to know that we as "your shift" never left you alone that night. I was only 20 seconds behind you when the accident occurred. But Kevin was right there with you. I will never forget hearing Kevin beg you to speak to him and his desperate attempts to get you out of the car. As your supervisor, friend and brother in blue, this memory will be with me forever. But I find great comfort in knowing that our God in heaven, who's feet you sit at know had other plans.

Every member of your shift was tore apart that night and we remain with very heavy hearts. But we pulled together, and we took care of you and your beautiful family. No Josh, it wasn't just us..Every member of this department made sure that you and your family were never alone. People from other agencies, the community, people from every walk of life were touched by you and the response was extraordinary. As your Supervisor I will miss you and all the times you called me, almost on a daily basis, just to say "wassup"? You worked your butt off everyday it seemed, to make sure to make ends meet for your family. Now its time to rest at the feet of Jesus. We will miss you my dear friend. I will always be proud to tell people that you were "my officer". Until we see you in that glorious land, keep an eye on us and protect us. We love you brother...
