To the family and friends of Officer Max Dorley

I am so very saddened to feel your loss today, and am fully grieving with you.

Every day, we all wonder "is it my turn to feel the sorrow blazed before me by others"......and then turn to prayer for the chance at one more day. Every day, we pray "Dear Lord, please protect my officers who are out there protecting others", and praise God the minute we hear their voices one more time. Yet every day, they put on their uniforms with pride and commitment, not knowing what is before them, but ready and able to sacrifice so that others may not have to.

Be proud of your officer....knowing that he gave and sacrificed for the good of all mankind, for I am proud of your officer, and grateful for his life and his sacrifice for others.

I'm praying for your comfort and heartfelt understanding when questioning "why", for though you may never receive the answer, may you be rewarded with his memory in your hearts forever.

You do not stand alone....

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Bow my Head
Seems that I have barely raised my head, lifted myself from my knees and wiped the tears from my eyes!! When it has happened again. Once more a Brother Warrior has been called to the Lords side, leaving us sorrowed beyond compare... a heaviness in my heart and an emptiness in my soul! Another loss to sustain, another family bearing the sorrow all the while struggling to understand why. But as Warriors we all know the why. For without us to SERVE, PROTECT AND TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE,,, there would be no innocence, no children playing in the parks, lovers holding hands as they gazed at the future! Without the WARRIORS, there would be no civilization no future for our children. Though we are underappreciated, never understood and always seen by the public as an unnecessary need, We Serve and Sacrifice! So who cries for the Fallen Warriors when the time comes to answer the Lords calling? We all cry, we all must bare the sorrow. We all must Honor the Fallen Warrior!! May the LORD hold our Fallen Brother in his ever warm embrace, May the Lord hold his Family and Loved Ones and grant them Peace and Strength in this Sorrowful Time. I once more kneel; bow my head in prayers to my fallen Brother. This time has been so sad, so many brothers leaving to the Lords side. I wipe the tears from my eyes, take a deep breath to steady my wavering heart and Honor my Brother!!! Peace and Love to you, My Brother and to your family.
