For Deputy Sheriff Denny Lawrence:

The risks taken by the law-officer are many, but the realization of having to linger in a state of uncertainty for what is equivalent to an eternity is something hardly any of us can endure even in thought. We regret to learn of Denny's passing, yet rejoice that his period of suffering has ended both for himself and his family.
We pray for his family, friends, co-workers who remember him, and all who care about him. May they reach-out in gladness to honor one who stands as a hero above so many.
We are proud to render Deputy Sheriff Denny Lawrence, an exceptionally brave soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

I remember the day this happened. Denny was a personal friend of our family. Denny did an amazing rally from his accident, He was obsessive about driving his vehicle. One day Denny showed up at the Elko sheriff office and ran into the handicapped sign to stop! When Denny was taking speach therapy he could only say cuss words at first -- he never was able to speak as he had before the accident but he certainly tried. Denny was a loyal officer and always professional he lived a long time after his accident and made the best of his quality of life. Denny will be missed.
