I never met you deputy pill. Your death struck me with anger towards your killer. I enjoyed the desire to harass him forever. He will pay with his life in prison for the senseless death he caused you. In addition to your gunshot wound I am sure you were in pain thinking about the loved ones you were leaving behind, especially your little grandchild. Truly you were a brave woman worthy of respect.

Though I never knew her, she was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.

Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.

Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.

Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.

We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.

The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

Deputy Pill,

Your memory lives on every day as we think of you and pray for your family. It never gets easier to drive past your memorial site. I always think of the procession to your funeral and how we went out of our way to pass by, blue lights flashing. Thank you for your tireless efforts to make our community a better place to live. We miss you very much

Even though I never knew you,
I feel your family's pain,
For another Police Officer
Has given their life again.
The hand of God now holds you,
Heaven is now your beat,
And it is every bit important,
As it was on city streets.
For your brothers and your sisters,
who have gone on there before,
look to you to carry on, so they can have relief,
For though theres no crime in Heaven,
No cars to chase and stop,
There is always respect and honor,
For a greatly dedicated, and decent Lady Cop.
My prayers go to your family such that they know that even the average Joe Citizen loves and honors the ones who put theirselves out there on the line everyday, doing what they do to protect and serve. God Bless You my lost friend, and may he grace your family with the knowledge that in is wisdom, The Police Officer wh did so much, for so many earned her wings many times over. Thank you for your service and dedication to your community, and those who dwell there.

This horrible tragedy still haunts this community. Officer Pill was truly the most incredible officer that this community has ever had. I just drove past her memorial on John Rhodes today, and still had tears. Although months have passed I don't think we will ever forget that day years from now. I know her family is still suffering and all of her extended family. I hope you know that, we the public are still praying for you and know your loss is great, I hope Brevard County never ever forgets her. And I hope that other officers follow in her footsteps. She was, and will always be that person you want your children to look up to. R.I.P. Barbara

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"
