Law Enforcement Officers willingly put on a uniform every day and protect our communities, states, and nation and some end up making the ultimate sacrifice.
O God of Peace, so many of America’s Peace Officers who are on the front lines to protect us never make it back home to their families. We pray for these fallen law enforcement officers, Lord God, who gave their lives for us. We pray for the families of these heroes, who have to now endure life without their loved one. Lord God, society tries to move forward, but there is always bloodshed occurring. We approach Your throne of glory and grace to beg of You for peace. Lord God, bring peace to this land – the United States of America. We plead for Your divine intervention to quiet our hearts and unify our communities. Stop the violence that occurs amid our cities. We thank You for all America’s Peace Officers who have died protecting us, and ask that You send an everlasting peace so that America’s Peace Officers on the streets may be safe and return home to their loved ones at the end of their assigned shifts. In Christ Jesus, Your blessed Son, I pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

My family recently moved to Florida, actually to Elena Way. When I walk each day, I see the beautiful memorial to Deputy Pill. I pray for her—indeed, a hero!—and her entire, huge network of family and friends. I also feel sad for her, her close family and friends, for our needy society/world:

Let us follow Deputy Pill’s lead and work for humanity, kindness, love, and peace in this world. Let us stamp out cruelty and continue to stand for peace and justice, helping make our world continually safe for democracy and the rule of law. Righteousness and peace must eventually triumph over senseless violence, whether that violence is individual versus individuals or dangerous mob rule over individuals.

I worked in your South end of the county once upon a time. I am sure like all of us you you did as much as possible to leave your area and people better off than the way you found them. Thank you

The Pill family,
May God grant you peace in knowing that Deputy Barbara Pill lived her life with honor and the highest of ethics in order to meet her calling. Memories will recall all the family holidays and times that she missed to fulfill her obligations as a law enforcement officer. But know that it was torment in her heart not to be both places or have the ability to be all to everyone. The blessing is that she was in God's eyes.

April 1st, 2014. I just watched the jury's decision for the murderer (I WON'T EVEN MENTION THE BASTARD'S NAME) of my friend and co-worker, Deputy Barbara Pill #644. I know we are supposed to forgive, but, I just can't. Barb and I went through the police academy together, she at 40 and me at 38. We didn't let our age get in our way, we were tough as nails. I know we scared some of our male counterparts during the physical aspects of our studies. We laughed about that, so did the guys. Good memories that bring a smile to my face, now. Barb and I studied together, sat two seats apart from each other through the classroom studies at the academy, and encouraged each other through the sometimes tough physical rigors of what we called "boot camp". While I did attend all of her services during that horrible March in 2012, to this day I have still not driven by the site of her untimely and unwarranted death. I am so happy with today's verdict, finally justice for Barb. Perhaps some day I can find it in my heart to forgive, but for now, it's just not there, I can't. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office, lost not just a Deputy Sheriff, we lost a good, compassionate, fair, sweet woman. Barb's family has had a huge part of their lives ripped from their being, I think that's the part I can't forgive. My love to the Pill family always. Barb, rest in peace.
