A quick story.....It was about 8 months ago and i was driving a litte to fast on highway 16 heading towards the bremerton shipyard, when all of a sudden i hear the black and whites light me up. i looked down to see i was in fact speeding. As the trooper came up to my truck we did the license, registration, insurance thing. This was, in fact the very First time i have had been pulled over for speeding and im 28 years old. The trooper asked me if i knew how fast i was going, and i replied that i didnt realize how fast i was going until he pulled me over...As he wrote me a ticket, we chatted about the military for a few seconds as he noticed i had Camp pendleton, Ca Decals on my windshield. I had just gotten out of the Marine Corpsl. instead of giving me a 400 dollar ticket i deserved, it was 150....i was happy to pay it knowing i deserved it..My overall experience with the trooper was something i really didnt expect. instead of me being mad as i got a speeding ticket, he left me actually laughing about it, and appreciating what he does, and the way he was doing it. i remember thinking to myself, that he was a good man as i drove off. it being my first speeding ticket, he made it pretty enjoyable i guess..i didnt know the troopers name as i drove away, but i found out today. I now live in Ketchikan Alaska and get the Seattle Area news channel and i saw this same troopers face again on the news, and not for any good reason. my heart sank in my chest...I really couldnt believe it, and still cant.....Being a Marine Combat Vet, i know what its like to lose one of your own. My heart really goes out to his family and friends, his fellow state troopers, and all law enforcement. I can tell he made a possitive impact on everyone he knew. RIP
