I am so sorry. We have had just too many officer shootings in our state, and each one is mourned. The troopers and police officers' sworn duty is to protect us. I wish we could protect THEM!!! RIP Trooper Radulescu; you will be remembered and missed; we honor you for your many years of service.

I am a long time Reserve Officer for the City of Poulsbo, WA. Over the years, I had the pleasure of working with Tony on many occassions, accident scenes, task force, ect. He always had an infectious good mood, great smile, and was willing to help anyone he could. I considered Tony a mentor, great friend and even better Trooper. WSP and the Kitsap community has lost a hero in another senseless tragedy. Tony, you will be sorely missed.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

I am a Community Support Officer for our Whatcom County emergency responders. I also serve as the chaplain for the Ferndale, Washington police department. Serving in those capacties I cannot express the sorrow and tears I experience any time a law enforcement officer comes to the end of their watch. My heart goes out to you, the family of Trooper Radulescu. May you know God's peace as you continue this life's journey without your beloved husband, father and special family member. Know that Trooper Radulescu now rests with all of those who have given their lives to make our communities a little safer. And they all are surrounded by the Creator who gives us life now and forever.

When I passed you parked on the side of the highway Wednesday night, it looked like you had finished a up a stop and were about to move on and make the county safer still again I'm sure. You tapped your brakes once, I tapped back twice. Instead, I wish I would have sped up (and maybe gotten) to see your smile one more time; to hear you ask what the hurry was, or tell me to slow down. That night, in my mind the brake tap was telling me to slow down. The next days, it feels like you were saying goodbye. When I saw the news Thursday morning at 3 a.m., my heart ached because I knew you were the veteran trooper who was gone. This county will have to hire a dozen men to replace just one Tony. We will never forget your voice or your smile, or your friendliness and the way you had time for everyone who crossed your path, everytime. Gone but not forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
