I met Todd and worked with him at ERJ over 10 years ago. Through the magic of facebook we reconnected, talked regularly, and even got to visit a few times. I'm thankful for those precious few moments. One of the great ones was taken from us too soon, and it will be hard to pick up and carry on. I will never forget you Todd. I will continue to pray for his family and friends, and hope that they find comfort in the fact that he's in Heaven...there's no doubt in my mind his home is there now and we will see him again.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Rest easy my friend, all my love....until we meet again.

I have to say I didn't know this man and I'm sorry for that. He seems to have touched countless lives in his short time in this world. God Bless his family and allow them to find peace. My brother was a police officer for many years in Morgantown, I salute all of our protectors...aka... heroes.

First, he was Todd or Toddy to those of us who knew him. And I talked to him about this day two months ago when we were at the funeral of a mutual friend. He said "God forbid you guys ever have to do this for me.". And I told him "Don't worry about that. You're going to die in your sleep when you're old...and probably bald." I lied to him that day without knowing it. In Law Enforcement, you wonder if, when the time comes, you'll do the right thing, giving your life to protect the innocent. You get that question answered for you pretty quickly. Todd never hesitated. He is a hero. He was my friend for 20 years. I don't know what to do without him. We were supposed to go to the new cabin he was building. That will never happen now.

To leave the safety of our family and home when those in need shall call, to serve with unflinching purpose, brothers we are all. To run out into the dark of night where evil deeds await, to serve with unflinching courage, little regard to our own mortal fate. To hide the scars of horrors seen and deny our deepest fears, to serve with undaunted compassion, unashamed by shedding tears. For this is the task we have sworn to endure, no matter how great the strife. To serve so that others may live, a cops purpose in life. So raise your glass and remember our brothers who now patrol in heaven, untill that time when we ourselves are eternally 10-7.
