Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.

Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.

Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.

Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.

We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.

The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

For Detective David White:

Our duty as law officers is fraught with high-risk, and we regret to learn that our brother David would be among those murdered by they who lurk behind locked doors, brewing the poison that robs so many of health and sanity all for profit to those who sell it. We now rely upon our system to bring justice for David, one now counted among those who are the bravest among we who enforce the law.

We pray for David's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

As a retired state trooper and Lake County (FL) detective, I am proud to render Detective David White a final salute.

Pennsylvania State Police

David, It has taken me some time to be able to write to you. I want to say that you were a warrior right up to the end. When my guys and I arrived at the scene within just a few minutes of your shooting all of your brother warriors were taking care of you and taking care of Matt. You were surrounded by friends who love you and they were doing everything in their power to try and save you. Matt was receiving aid from John and was doing OK. When I realized that it was you who was shot so badly, my heart broke. I still don't understand why this had to happen to such an outstanding man-The kind of man I pray my son grows up to be. I know that you could feel all of us their with you pulling for you to make it, and that you know we stayed with you all the way. I only have one thing left to say-If I had known then what i know now, when I saw you on the street about 3 weeks before this terrible night I would have said more than just Hey Dave, Y'all Be Careful. Godspeed my Friend and rest well.
Jennifer, Please know that my family and I will be keeping your entire family in our prayers! If there is ever anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask either me or anyone in your extended Clay County Sheriff's Office Family.

Clay County Sheriff's Office
