Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Louis Box

I will always honor my Great Grandfather and the sacrifice he made protecting the citizens of Rocky Ford. My Grandmother was his oldest child. All of his children have passed and it is up to us descendants to keep his memory alive. I have been in law enforcement for 23 years and pray every day that my service makes a difference. I am proud to be a law enforcement officer.
I have been to the Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial and intend to visit the National Memorial soon.
It makes me happy to see other distant relatives, I have not met, leaving a reflection on this page. Maybe someday we can connect.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 67th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Patrolman Box - Two Fridays ago, on a very rainy morning, I stood in the State Assembly chambers when your name was one of the almost 250 read off during a vote regarding next month's Police Memorial Week. You are not forgotten. Next May 15, we will wear our mourning bands on our badges in tribute to you all. Thank you for your service to the people of Rocky Ford and the state of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may his perpetual light shine upon you.

I own a bowling alley in the city in which you patrolled. I want to thank you for your service and dedication. Your shift may have ended that terrible day though your work will always be remembered. My prayers go out to the fellow officers who patrol the great city of Rocky Ford to stay safe. RIP brother

I didn't have the honor of meeting you Sir, but I have the honor of continuing the service you provided. I only hope the ones you loved know the honor in the sacrafice you gave. I hope you will look down on us officers and know we salute you, and the many with you. God bless, and rest at ease. Thank you for all you gave.
