In addition to being a dedicated officer Bill knew how to "Turn" a wrench and loved working on cars. It was not unusual to pull into the Wheaton Station parking lot and observe a car up on stands with Bill doing a brake job or tune up on a fellow officers personal car. Best regards to your family. RIP brother.
