Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Senior Police Officer Gail Denise Thomas

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.

Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.

Relief from heartache's torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.

Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There's a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.

We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven's gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.

The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

To the Family:

May the love of God's peace keep you during this time of sorrow. No words can express or take the place of how you are feeling right now, but know that she is in a better place and you will see her again.

Gail never met a stranger and she always had a smile on her face. I'm sure she is in heaven smiling for God and looking down on all of us and saying be strong, don't cry, for the tragedy that took place on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 was in God's plans and now I'm in his Hands.

I'm originally from Georgia, in the navy now moving around. Haven't been to Georgia in over a year, but it always is hard to hear about something so close to home. I can tell just by your picture that you were a pleasant person and I'm sure you loved your job. Thank you for all of your hard work, and I am so sorry that this happened to you. Rest in peace sister, you deserve all the respect and prayers you are getting.

Gail,
I remember how nice and helpful you were to me when I joined the Department as a scared little dispatcher without a clue. I made it my mission to become a a great dispatcher like you. I was close--but I never made it there because you were one of the dispatchers around. I then watched you transition into a great career as a Police officer.

I am thinking back to our last conversation in late November when we rode up on the elevator together and we talked about Jasmine. We talked as if it had not been a long time since we last saw each other.

I will forever remember you smiling as we hugged and parted in the hallway.

You are and always will be one of the nicest people around. Now you are sharing that beautiful smile with the rest of the angels in Heaven.

Rest in Peace!!!!
