Reflections for Senior Police Officer Gail Denise Thomas

"Jesus said to her I am the resurrection and the life"- John 11:25

I have some degree of comfort through faith, because as Christ lives, all who are in Him live also, that when we depart from this realm we are absent from the body and present with Christ in the place He has prepared for us (2 Corinthians 5:8, John 14:2-3)

Gail, I will forever cherish our friendship. I last saw you several weeks ago and you greeted me as you always did, with that kilowatt smile and huge hug. So genuine and kind! Truly Salt of the Earth. I salute your dedication representing the City of Atlanta's Finest.

You must know that on this side of heaven, we all carry a heartache over your loss and our world is darkened without your beautiful light and smile amongst us.

Yet, we know you have transitioned to a more glorious place, patrolling Heaven's streets of gold.

Unit 1525, I copy you are on scene in the Heavenly Kingdom, and will hold you out for the remainder...

I pray God's ever abiding presence and comfort to the Thomas family and my extended Atlanta PD family.

We love you Gail.

I'm another who was blessed to get to know Officer Thomas through her weekly service at Passion City Church. Her beautiful and radiant smile reflected her love for Jesus as did her kind and humble demeanor.

My heart breaks for all those who love her, and especially for her cherished daughter. But I know that Officer Thomas is with the Savior she dearly loved and that all is well for her.

Our prayers will continue for her grieving loved ones.

Thank you, Officer Thomas, for serving our city and our Savior so beautifully. You will be greatly missed.
