We are bonded by virtue of the fact that we are at risk. Because we are at risk it is inevitable that we will suffer losses. This is the beautiful tragedy of the bond warriors share. Rest in peace, SPO Thomas. May God welcome you into His kingdom with grace and mercy. May He also comfort your family in their time of loss and grief. APD, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Officer Thomas will be greatly missed by everyone at the Georgia Tech Police Department. She really did have the smile that could light up a room and personality that you just wanted to be around. Thoughts go out to her daughter and the rest of her family. We will never forget the wonderful woman and officer that Gail was.

Officer Thomas, from what I hear you came up to Rochester in January 2008 to help Dekalb County Police say goodbye to one of their own (Officer Ricky Bryant EOW:1/16/08). I know his Agency and his family appreciated the support you gave as an Atlanta Police Honor Guard member. Just as you were there for his survivors, we will be here for your survivors. You, your family, your co workers including your Honor Guard family from all the various Agencies are in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember first meeting you in 2007 while field training and working in Zone 5. You were small in statue, but your dedication, work ethic, heart and smile made you larger than life. I really got to know you when I was blessed with the honor of becoming a member of the Honor Guard. As I reflect on your life, I just can't help but to smile and laugh as I remember you putting a hand full of gummy bears inside of a plastic glove that you got from an employee at the restaurant. You will definitely be missed. I WILL MISS YOU!

As the Mother of a Georgia Law Enforcement Officer Son, my heart just goes out to the family, friends, and long-time co-workers of Ms. Thomas. They put their lives on the line every single day to protect and serve each and every one of us. I know this was one thing you did not want to happen, but I just pray that you ALL will be able to get through these next few weeks and months, but, I know that you will never forget those prescious memories of Ms. Thomas. I just pray that you will all look to God in this time, and pray for His strength on a daily basis. Please keep praying for the rest of us Law Enforcement families! Being that this is in Georgia.....it REALLY kinda hits home for ME! I will be praying for you all. God BLESS you ALL.

This madness has to stop. We need tougher laws when it comes to the slaying of a police officer. When is this country going to come to its senses. These are our children, siblings, parents and aunts and uncles who we lose. I am sorry for the untimely death of your loved one and may you find comfort in God. She will be missed by a nation of Public Safety Personell as well as you. She is now serving a higher chief.
