Reflections for Deputy Sheriff William Hauley Coleman

Bill welcomed my son, Greg, into his daughter's, Jenarae, life and to his family. They bonded well and Bill taught him many things - from welding to experience with ride-alongs while on patrol. Bill nurtured Greg's growing desire to also go into law enforcement, helping him understand what it means to be a cop.
I am very grateful that Bill made Greg feel a part of his family.

How I know how the death of a faithful officer can have an effect on many people. I flagged down Deputy Vernon Marconnet on June 30th 1988 I described a alledged suspious activity where it appearred a truck had run a gold car off of the canal rd to Deputy Marconnet and there were 3 men drinking but what really caught my attention was a female who couldnt take her eyes off of me as I drove by.I have lived with his face everyday since this happened....... I have thought to myself what if I hadnt alerted the officer he might have stayed on 35th ave and not even seen the situation and might still be with us!God bless Deputy William Coleman and his family and our prayers will be with them in their time of need.
