A ready smile and words in jest were his trademark. He was the strongest man I knew and I strove to catch him with each rep, set and day. My heart is broken over the loss of my friend and brother. He died while firing his weapon to protect and cover his wounded brothers and I know he would not have had anyone go in his stead. I will have a black and scarred part if my heart for the rest of my life, and will try each day to, "Earn this."

The Final Inspection

The Police Officer stood and faced God,
Whose time shall always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you policeman,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,

We as citizens always seem to take the Police and Fire agencies for granted until such a tragedy occurs. Since Officer Fox was killed in the line of duty, I have made it a personal point of respect to thank every member i see for all that they do. It only matters to me, but it is important. May i suggest that we all do the same ? RIP Officer Francom. I wish you well.
