Heros in Life, Not Death!

Police Constable Al Halimic
York Regional Police, Canada

January 7, 2012

To your wife, little ones and your law enforcement family,

I heard of your death at roll call. I also heard five others were wounded in the same incident. I was compelled to read your story, and I logged on to ODMP. For selfish reasons, I do not typically read this site. It is heart breaking. However, I had the need today to read your story. How tragic! I have so much sorrow at this time, writting this messege. I cannot fatherom your parents, wife and little ones pain.
In life us cops do not always treat each other with a lot of kindness, yet when the ultimate sacrifice is made, we come together.
Jared, I pray you knew Jesus. And I pray your wife and little ones know Him too.
Police work whenn done right is rewarding, yet awfully painful.
Thank you Jared, for your ultimate sacrifice; for the greater gain of humanity.

Sheriffs Office

My brother, I am very saddened and completely torn apart by your loss. I had just seen you last week and we had shared a couple of laughs and talked for a bit. It was an honor to have known you and I will never forget you. Ever since I met you, you were always really cool with me and I will always appreciate that. I knew from the interactions that we had that you were a humble, loyal, and genuine person. I will forever cherish the moments we shared. Rest in peace my friend and my condolences to your family.
