Nothing makes me angrier than putting on my shadow band around my badge. But I do so with honor as I know that the Officer we mourn died in honor. I know that if the roles were reversed, Officer Schneider would not have hesitated to place that shadow band around his badge. I thank you for your service Brother. It is time for you to go 10-7. We have the watch from here. Thank you for your service and thank you for your commitment. You will never be forgotten. You have earned your wings. God Speed.

My prayers and heart goes out to the family of officer Shawn Schneider. I faced the same pain September 6,1999 when my son Jason was killed in the line of duty. Let your family, friends and other officers help you through the diffcult times ahead. Please everyone remember him not only as an officer but also a husband, father, son, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend. Don't be afraid to talk about him, sure it causes pain but also the memories bring smiles when you remember the funny things he said or did. Start a journel of things you remember about him and share with his wife, kids, and his parents. Parents are often forgotten and I know from experience how painful that can be. As a parent you were the first to know them. As time goes on you do forget some of those things and how nice it would be for the family to always have something to read and rememeber.
Rest in peace and continue to watch over as you have here on earth. Thanks for a job well done rest now officer Schneider #208

To the family and friends of Officer Shawn Schneider, his fellow officers, and most especially to Officer Schneider:

We honor your service to your community as a police officer and you will always be remembered and revered. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Shawn was killed in the line of duty. It is obvious he was well-loved by many and well-respected by his peers as reflected in the loving reflections left for him.

May his loved ones continued to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you. To Shawn's family, you are in my heart's embrace today. I share his parents anguish in losing a beloved child which surely has to be life's greatest sorrow.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the many years of distinguished service Shawn gave to his community and the citizens of Minnesota, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on December 19, 2011.

Officer Schneider was truly a hero like all the others that have gone before him in the line of duty. Right now somewhere in this country, a police officer is responding to a call and is thinking that things may go bad...but we go anyway because thats our job. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and the Lake City Pd and Wabasha County Law Enforcement Community. We will never forget you brother.

He responded to one of the most dangerous calls officers can go to. We have lost way too many officers this year, and it seems Minnesota loses many to responding to these type of calls. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, fellow Lake City and Wabasha Co officers.
