Danny was one of my best friends and family members. Very few people knew him like I did. I just lost one of the best people I have ever known. I will never take for granted all of our moments. Some of my darkest hours were made easier because of him. Whoever's life he saved to die for better appreciate every single breath they take from this day forward...
"Whosoever layeth down his life for another shall find it" Danny lived and died by this statement. You will be missed...

So fortunate was the young man who survived to have crossed paths with such a selfless, virtuous and caring individual. I didn't know you Danny, but you embody what each of us strive to become - rest well in the arms of our Savior, though your path through this life has ended, your impact on this life continues.

Danny, you will always have a special place in the hearts of me and my family. You were the best friend and squad mate I could have hoped for, you will be dearly missed. Your dedication to God and country will continue to inspire me and drive me to be a better man. You dedicated your life to helping others; your family, your church, your friends and co-workers, and finally you gave your life while helping a young man you didn't even know. It has been an honor knowing you, rest in peace brother.

I remember Danny growing up. He was very funny, an example of caring for others, and having a good time. It doesn't surprise me at all that he lived and died serving others. He was a great friend, and a good man. He will be missed.
