Special Agent Knapp understood what it meant to serve in the profession that he chose, this is evidenced in his heroic actions on December 29th. Special Agent Knapp, thank you for your years of service and for making the ultimate sacrifice. May the one you saved realize and understand the sacrifice made to spare his life. Also, in remembrance of you, may he take that gift of a second chance and use it to bless others, thus keeping your spirit and actions alive. Rest in Peace and may God bless your family.

It was with a sense of sadness that I read the loss of Daniel Lee Knapp in the news. As a citizen I feel compelled to honor his memory and the extraordinary life and values he lived and exemplified, with my words. As a parent I can only imagine the great sorrow of his family and friends; I pray that the lord provides them serenity at a time like this. Daniel is not only a hero but an angel and certainly in gods presence now.

First of all, my condolences to Special Agent Knapp's family. Indeed he died a hero. Second, I would like to tell all of you, that the young man he saved is an 18 year old student named Hector Gonzalez Lopez. He said to the press in Puerto Rico that, even though he feels relieved that he is alive, he feels frustrated because Knapp died. He sent his condolences to the family and said that he feels guilt because Knapp died in his attempt to save him. God bless Special Agent Knapp, a true hero!
