Reflections for Special Agent Daniel Lee "Danny" Knapp

Agent Knapp, may you rest in peace our brother. You're a true hero.

Sgt Richard Eckert

To Danny's family, from a member of his FBI family who served with him in in PR; though this may be of little comfort at this time, please know that Danny touched each of us with his calm demeanor and dedication to doing "the right thing" in life. In those moments during which he chose to participate in the truest form of altruism, risking self for the safety of another human being, he was doing what he knew was the right thing to do. I am sorry for your personal loss. Long after these days have passed, Danny will be remembered by many for an act that embodies all that is right with putting another before oneself.

Gods Speed Brother Knapp. Your brothers of the Northampton Police Department proudly honor your sacrifice. You have shown that true professionals know no down time, no vacation from the heart and no rest for the weary. You show that any time, anywhere when someone is in need, the brotherhood will respond and if it requires laying down one's life to save another, then so be it. We pray that as you enter the Kindom of Heavan with the Lord, you stand watch over the rest of us and give us your strength and commitment. We pray for your family and friends that the loving memories you leave behind will help them through this difficult time. Gods Speed Brother......

Anytime a law enforcement officer dies, he dies a hero. In this case Agent Knapp, he dies bravely venturing on a heroic action few would attempt. God rest his soul.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Rest in Peace Brother.

Danny was one of my best friends and family members. Very few people knew him like I did. I just lost one of the best people I have ever known. I will never take for granted all of our moments. Some of my darkest hours were made easier because of him. Whoever's life he saved to die for better appreciate every single breath they take from this day forward...

So fortunate was the young man who survived to have crossed paths with such a selfless, virtuous and caring individual. I didn't know you Danny, but you embody what each of us strive to become - rest well in the arms of our Savior, though your path through this life has ended, your impact on this life continues.
