My deepest condolences for the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Crispin. We are griefing the loss of one of our own guardians of the peace, PSO Scotty Richardson, who was killed in action in Aiken, SC the same day. Such a senseless tragefy to see two young officers have their lives cut so short. You have earned your wings...tell Scott we will miss him.

While we did not know each other well, only working a few details together, I watched over you for a couple of hours the day you left us. My words for you will stay in that hospital room. I know you will do what I asked of you. Know that I will do what you asked of me, even though you did not need to utter a word.

I don't feel the need to tell you to rest in peace, because I know you are with the Lord and in His presence there is surely peace.

I'm am however, envious of your detail this weekend at Heaven Side Village. Somehow I know you'll keep those other angels in line. I already have a detail this weekend so don't call me if you want to give your's away. I still have those things to take care of down here.

To Officer Crispin's family
To the family at Lakeland PD

The family, friends, co-workers and surrounding agencies are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time of loss. Especially during this Christmas season, the passing of Officer Crispin is a tremendous loss. A loss not only to family, friends and fellow officers - but a loss that weighs heavy on the hearts of the law enforcement community across our great nation.

My heart just broke Monday morning as I watched the news that Officer Crispin had been shot. I prayed and prayed for God to make him whole again and allow him to live, but in the end it's not always our will that gets accomplished but God's. I didn't know Officer Crispin, but his death affected me and has affected this community. I didn't know him, but in a sense I did.

There are those who think they understand, then their are cops. Officer Crispin's death affects us all, because we've all been there and we've all done that. We've all been in situations that could have gone really bad and we were thankful when the situation was over that it didn't. It affects so deeply because it could be any one of us. It affects us because we know there are going to be those who are going to pay the ultimate price and in the end we cannot save everyone.

I know that Officer Crispin will be missed greatly, but comfort can be taken that he died a hero. He died doing something he loved. RIP Officer Crispin. You did your duty well.

Lee County Sheriff's Office, Fort Myers, Florida

On 12/18/2011 at 2222 hours our department's world changed forever. One of our brothers was down and we all went to help. Crispin you had just left me an hour before and I would never think that was the last time we would talk in person. Your squad knows you will watch over us from above and we will always remember you for the officer you were. Right now our hearts are broken but knowing you are now safe we will slowly heal. I remember the good times we had and I also remember the night you came to my aid to help me with a fighting suspect and then I knew you had what it takes to be a partner of mine. I love you brother and will miss you forever.

Officer Michael Roberson #140

Another brother I have never met,
Another family filled with a terrible sadness.
My heart breaks, my eyes fill with tears.
