Just visited New York in October, I met quite a few Police Officers, and exchanged some shoulder patches. Very nice and professional to me and my wife. We are so sorry to hear about Officer Figoski. God bless his family, friends, and fellow officers.

To the family of PO Figoski, I can't even begin to imagine the pain you are all going through. I never knew Pete, but did work in the 7-5 and 7-3 when I was in housing at PSA 2, years ago. Be strong, and ALWAYS remember, he died a try hero. To have worked in an area like that, for so long, speaks volumes about what kind of guy Pete must have been. Pete, rest easy brother... we got it from here..

IT IS AT TIMES LIKE THIS WHERE I DONT UNDERSTAND PEOPLES APPREHENSION TOWARDS THE DEATH PENALTY... THERE SHOULDNT EVEN BE A TRIAL.... AND BTW, LETHAL INJECTIONS ARE TOO HUMANE.... OFFICER FIGOSKI SPENT THE LAST MOMENTS OF HIS LIFE IN PAIN AND HIS FAMILY WILL HAVE TO ENDURE PAIN FOREVER.... THE TRIGGERMAN SHOULD FEEL PAIN TOO... ABSOLUTELY NO SYMPATHY AT ALL FOR HIM.

Obsiously this Veteran Officer could have been retired by now according to what I read. Why didn't he? Like alot of us, the job becomes who were are, especially after 22 years. As much as we may complain about the job, we stay and serve the public. Officer Figoski's family must stand tall and firm - yes a terrible thing has happened which will be felt eternally, but the Officer was doing what he loved. There's nothing that can be said to "make it better." He loved his family, served his fellow mankind - I can't see it much better than that! My sincere condolences to his family.
