We were in the Academy together and I would often run into you in the 75..you could've went upstairs and been a Det but it wasn't for you. You liked the streets which says a lot about you. Not many men could do over 20 years on the streets of ENY. I pray for you and your family and think about you often. Rest in Peace warrior.

I didn't know you, but I lost four friends LOD from '86. And that's leaving out 9/11. Straight street incidents. Well, there's never a good time for a death of one of ours. But right around Christmas? So I think of you every year right about now, even without knowing you personally- because I don't need to, you're my Brother. two of OUR FAMILY have been assassinated (12/20/14) I'm retired a long time; And I had a good night planned. But I couldn't watch the movie, the wine sucked and she went to bed. And instead, I sit here with cigar in hand, talking about my brothers and writing you. I don't care who reads; I needed to write, to talk with you, so you know we rememeber... Therre's things you belong to.. And there's things you're WITH. I had (respectfully) heard they called you "Figs". Well, Merry Christmas, my Newton! Have your back in the afterlife!--- Kaycheck.

DET FIGOSKI,
THANK YOU FOR BEING THE HERO THAT YOU ARE! AND TO YOUR FAMILY I SAY, I HAVE SEEN THE DAMAGE THAT THESE MURDERERS CAUSE AND HAVE LOST A BROTHER BECAUSE OF ONE. THE SADNESS NEVER SEEMS TO END. BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN I THINK OF MY BROTHER AND I SMILE AND THINK WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN. THERE ARE NO WORDS OF COMFORT THAT WILL EASE THE PAIN AND I KNOW THIS, BUT I HAVE LEARNED THAT IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS FAMILY AND LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER, THOSE THINGS CAN GET YOU THROUGH JUST ABOUT ANYTHING! GOD BLESS DET FIGOSKI,
AND HIS FAMILY AND ALL HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN BLUE!!!!!!!! THE FAMILY OF P.O. JOHN TUCKER # 9168 EOW 08 OCT 68 CHICAGO POLICE DEPT.

A radio run changed the lives of many.
New York City mourned the loss of a hero,
A family mourned the loss of a son, brother ~ father.
A catching order would have me bear the title
"Case Detective".
Today 05-29-2013 the last of the criminals have been handed his verdict ~ GUILTY.
It was the determination of my fellow Detectives and Police Officers throughout Brooklyn North and beyond that helped put together a case against these criminals that would someday pay for their crime.
Many hours of reviewing evidence ~ interviews of cops and witnesses ~
The Brooklyn District Attorneys office ~
Homicide Bureau Chief Kenneth Taub and
Assistant District Attorney Howard Jackson
would create a case that would be heard
by 12 men and women.
New Yorkers and the Figoski family came to learn what happened on the night of December 12, 2011. Details of a crime that changed our lives forever.
Today the verdict was GUILTY. The jurors heard the case and through their commitment towards justice then handed down a verdict. GUILTY.
It will take years to heal and yes the scars will remain to remind us ~ our loss.
Detective Peter J Fisgoski will live in all of us he touched.
To the members of the 75th Precinct - My family in the 75 Squad - To all detectives and police officers involved - Thank You.
To a family that showed true courage, patience and love ~
GOD BLESS THE FIGOSKI FAMILY ~
GOD BLESS DETECTIVE PETER J FIGOSKI
