To the Wife and children. Your Husband and Father was an American Hero. He did a thankless job that most either don't want or the rest would be scared to do. Never forget those facts about your Husband and Father. He is now in paradise beside God. My respect always.

I don't know any of Officer Deriek's family, and friends, nor did I ever get the pleasure of meeting him. Yet, with a heavy heart I write this Reflection. Thank you for a life time of service to keep not only this great country safe, but your community safe as well. This hits me hard because I have several friends, as well as my boy friend who are joining the USMC, and it would tear me apart if someone took them from the world after their sacrifice to keep everyone safe. Officer Deriek's will always be remembered for his dedication, and love for his country, and community. He is indeed a hero worth remembering. Rest in peace, sir. God Bless.
