Reflections for Constable John Marion Seago

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Though I never met him, I am honored to call John M. Seago my great-grandfather. He once rescued a suspect from an angry lynchmob reported to number 2,000 people. I wish I could have known him.

Constable Seago,
Sir, It has taken over 87 years but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community, but for our Country as well when you served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War.

R.I.P.
