Reflections for Police Officer Terry Mae Lewis Flemming

To the extended family of this heroic officer, I extend my prayers. In these troubled times we live in, there is the perfect hero. On October 28, 2011, the hero shined in you. We as your extended family thanks and appreciates the sacrafice you gave in order for the world to be safer. It seems so unfair to pay such a price, but remember God wanted you and needed you more.
I want your fellow officers and your family to embrace what God once shared with you. Take your troubled times and thoughts to remember the love that you have for this fallen soldier of God. I want the family to know that you are not alone. I want you to know that you will always have blessings for sharing an angel with the world. I will end this with saying, the world will always love you for your sacrafice.

Milledgeville Police Department

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

RIP Ofc. Lewis-Fleming, thank you for your service

I am not an officer, but I knew her personally. She was a kind and gentle person. You did not have to see her everyday for her to greet you when she saw you with that wonderful smile. Rest in Peace Terry and know that you left a legacy of love, leadership, and pride in those who have ever had the pleasure to meet you. We Love You!!!!!

Isaiah 57
King James Version

1The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

2He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness

Revelation 14:13
