Reflections for Police Officer Trevor Parker Slot

I know I speak for all the members of the Ravenna Village Council when I say we will always remember Officer Slot, even not knowing him personaly. He gave way more than the rest of us in doing his duty. We are and were fortunate in having men and women who are dedicated to protecting those of us who need it. Thanks be to him and his family in sharing him with us when we needed him the most.

Trevor our department will never be the same after 10-13-11. We will pick up the pieces and pull together...I just don't know how to do that yet. Kim and the girls will be loved each and every day. Nothing could ever replace you, but we will do everything we can for your family. I know you will watch us and protect the ones you love just like you did in life. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Thank you Officer Slot for standing between evil and those they would prey upon. Without brave men like you, evil would triumph. You filled someones shoes when you began your career and now yours are to be filled to continue the good fight. RIP as you stand before your maker and continue your patrol. May God bless & comfort your family & fellow officers during the following days of this terrible tragedy. You are TRUELY a hero!!

To the family of this officer I would like to extend my condolence and say I am so sorry about your loss. My hometown of Grenada, Ms lost a fellow officer a week ago today the same way. We laid him to rest on Tuesday of this week he was the first and only officer in Grenada and the only officer killed in Mississippi this year. I extend my prayers for strength and hope to you may the Lord hold you in his arms to show you guidance during this time.
