We just passed the memorial sign on 96. We came here to read about Officer Slot and how he came to pass in the line of duty. Thank you for your service and God bless your daughters and late wife.

My dad has told me many stories of you always walking in with your uniform in one arm and a soda in the other. I didn't know you personally but you and your family are still in my prayers. You were a great officer and you are still greatly missed by all.

Thank you so much to Officer Trevor Slot and all the members of the Walker Police Department for what you do for us every day. I teach at a school in Walker and the sign for the Trevor Slot Memorial Highway is the last thing I see before taking the Fruitport Exit. To me, that sign is a powerful and concrete reminder that the safety and well-being of our kids and community trumps our daily troubles and challenges and that we can all aspire to be protectors. Thank you again for everything you do and please continue anchoring our community - your efforts reach farther than you know.

Officer Slot,

Even though I never had the chance of knowing you I feel like I do. I have heard so many stories about you from our Walker PD family. I am proud to work with the Walker PD and help honor and remember you by helping with the golf outing and 5K. Thank you for your service. You are missed by so many people. Keep watching over your brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Another year has passed without you...but not a day has gone by without a memory or a story being shared about you. There are laughs, smiles and the random private tears when I talk about you. I will forever miss my friend.

I recall the day as a scanner radio listener, a day I won't forget. I remenber the initial encounter, the chase, the woman deputy calling out the mile makers as she was being shot at, Trevor Slot laying down stop strips, and the final shoot out.

A horrific day for all involved.

My thoughts go out to all, and my tears for the loss of Trevor Slot, who was trying to help us all.

Uncle Trevor i can not believe that it has already been 2 years that you are gone. There isn't a day that goes by that i don't think of you. We miss you so much and it's not fair that them mean men had to take you away from us. We all love you and we all mis you everyday. Aunt Kim and the girls have the best angle watching over them, we all have the best angle watching over us. Maybe we can all see each-other soon. Keep the other angles safe up there please. We are all staying strong each and every day!
I love you Uncle Trevor!

I too was compelled to show my respect and honor to my fallen brother after reading about him in Our Daily Bread. Kim & Girls...I cannot imagine what you've been through and I pray my family will never have to experience the same reality. Take hope that you will see Trevor again someday and will spend eternity with him in heaven.

Kaitlyn and Abbie, your Daddy loved you very, very much. You were the loves of his life, his treasure. It was not his choice to leave you. He was taken from you because of the actions of some selfish, evil men. Your Dad was a courageous man and is a hero.

My prayers go out to you all.

I just read the Daily Bread for 11/08/2012 and having been in law enforcement for almost 24 years I too wanted to read about Officer Slot. Thank you Officer Slot for your service and to all who put their lives on the line every day. Thank you also for your testimony. You truly are a hero. My prayers are with you and your family and for all first responders.

Yes, I too read the Our Daily Break devotional earlier today (11/08/2012), and was intrigued by the reference to Trevor. Promised myself to "google" him at work today, and just thought of it here at my desk. We DO still have heroes in America; Trevor is now one of mine. Thank God for men and women who still stand for ethics, morals, principles and law in a society that seems to be crazed; our young people need to see examples of integrity like Trevor to encourage them there IS still a remnant. God richly bless your family, Officer Slot. You have my admiration and respect.

I read about this in the daily bread as well and it is so wonderful to know God is still using you today so even when we pass on from earth to heaven he still has a plan and promise in store.

I was reading my daily devotion on Our Daily Bread's website and today's devotion was based on Officer Slot's character. He was known as a devoted officer, father and Christian. What a testimony to the world and a blessing to fellow Christians to hear of Trevor's legacy. If you are a family member of Officer Slot's or close friend, you should be proud.

I was reading Our Dail Bread devotional, and saw that this officer was mentioned. It speaks volumes that his character was exemplied in a devotional to motivate believers. I am privileged to have read about you. I will continue to live my life they way you have lived yours. My sympathy goes out to your daughters and your wife.
