It is extremely sad that another officer has lost his life doing their job. It is heart warming that he's dog refused to leave his side. If there is any good out of this, it's the fact the murderer was killed without hurting anymore officers. Rest In Peace my friend.

I posed for a photograph a few days ago standing next to the Officer Down Memorial patrol vehicle bearing the names of The Fallen. Now, Officer Kotecki's name will be added. That photo has new meaning now. I weep....
