Deputies Tim Lowery and Mike Roberts represent what makes the United States of America the greatest country in history. In every conflict in our great history, volunteers have stepped forward ready to fight to insure the freedom of our countrymen- as members of our great military services and as members of law enforcement as these two great Americans did, and, like many before them, died in the line of duty. The loss of any Law Enforcement Officer is tragic, but the loss of these two volunteers is especially so, and all of us who are full time law enforcement should pause and consider that we are so highly regarded by some of those that we serve that they willingly step forward to join us in the fight. God Bless these two Deputies, their families and their colleagues.

Sheriff Al Cannon
Charleston County (SC) Sheriff's Office
